EXAMINATAION & PASSING CRITERIA FOR S.Y.B.Sc.-IT.

The scheme of examination shall be divided in two parts:
Internal Assessment 25 Marks
Semester End Examination (Duration of Exam is 2.5 Hrs.) 75 Marks
The allocation of 25 marks shall be on the following basis:
Common for Theory & Practical subjects.
Internal Assessment - One Periodical Class Test 20 Marks
Overall performance 05 Marks
Semester End Examination Duration of this examination shall of 2.5 Hrs.
Practical Assessments for (50 Marks)
Semester End Examination 40 Marks
Journal 05 Marks
Viva 05 Marks

Performance Grading:-

The performance grading of the learners shall be on the ten point ranking system as under

Passing Standard

The learners to pass a course shall have to obtain a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate for each course where the course consists of Internal Assessment and Semester End Examination. The learners shall obtain minimum of 40% marks (i.e. 10 out of 25) in the Internal Assessment and 40% marks in Semester End Examination (i.e. 30 out of 75) separately, to pass the course and minimum of Grade D, wherever applicable, to pass a particular semester. A learner will be said to have passed the course if the learner passes the Internal Assessment and Semester End Examination together.

Practical Passing Standard

The learners shall obtain minimum of 40% marks (i.e. 20 out of 50) in the Practical Examination separately, to pass a particular semester. A learner will be said to have passed the course if the learner passes the Internal Assessment, Semester End Examination and Practical Examination together.

R. 8438. Allowed to keep terms (ATKT) Applicable to the courses under Faculty of Arts:

A Learner shall be allowed to keep term for Semester II irrespective of number of courses of failure in the Semester I.

OR

A Learner shall be allowed to keep term for Semester III if He/She passes each of Semester I and Semester II.

OR

A Learner fails in not more than four Courses of Semester I and Semester II taken together with not more than TWO courses at each of Semester & I Semester II.

OR

A Learner shall be allowed to keep term for Semester IV irrespective of number of courses of failure in the Semester III.

A Learner shall be allowed to keep term for Semester V if He/She passes Semester I, Semester II, Semester III and Semester IV.

OR

A Learner shall pass Semester I and Semester II and fails in not more than FOUR courses of Semester III and Semester IV taken together with not more than TWO courses at each of Semester III & Semester IV.

A Learner should allowed to keep term for Semester VI irrespective of number of courses of failure in the Semester V.

The Learner can appear for the semester VI examination (subject of 9d) & 9e) above) but the result of Semester VI shall be kept in abeyance until the learner passes each of Sem- I, Sem- II, Sem- III, Sem- IV and Sem- V.
