Co-Curricular Activities & Personality Development
Many co-curricular and extracurricular activities are conducted throughout the year under the chairmanship of staff members. Principal is the President of all associations. Students are encouraged to take active part in Cultural Activities, Gymkhana, Science association, Geography Association and to find out concealed talent and potential for the all-round development. All possible freedom is given with the specific idea to give full charge to develop their personalities in tune with their potentialities.
A) National Service Scheme (NSS) :
The National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) evolved by the Ministry of Education to inculcate the spirit of social service in
young men and women
of our country has been introduced in the College from the year 2004. It
provides ample opportunities to boys and
girls to participate in the service of the poor and the needy section of the
society. College N.S.S. unit has the enrolment of 100 students every year. The regular N.S.S. activities include tree
plantations, blood donation camp,
area cleaning, pulse polio survey, HIV / AIDS
awareness, lectures on health and
hygiene, etc. During the camp, free medical checkup of villagers, area cleaning, street plays, various awareness campaigns
are undertaken.
Also the
students who join the National Service Scheme will get the benefit of ten additional marks. These marks will be given
provided the student completes 120 hours in N.S.S.
B) D.L.L.E.:
The Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension [DLLE] (known earlier
as Department of Adult and Continuing Education and Extension) established on
October 12, in the Year 1978 and has been recognized as a statutory Department
of the University of Mumbai since 1994 to promote a meaningful and sustained
rapport between the Universities, Colleges and the community. It has been introduced in our College from the year
2017. The DLLE offers flexible Continuing
Education opportunities for the people.
A crucial element in starting
counseling is training to making decisions beforehand. Student Counseling
Services include psychological, mental or emotional, Education and Career
counseling. At the College level, the idea is guiding and assisting students
throughout their study at the institute, providing appropriate assistance at
each stage of the student's development, growth or progress.
This process often should begin
with a career counseling process designed to help students developing their
self-knowledge and awareness of options needed to select an academic major or a
cautious career direction. Students should be guided in thinking about their
interests, values, competencies, and personal characteristics. They should be
advised through conversation and exercises, otherwise students often discover
beforehand unidentified interests. Now a days Career counseling is frequently
offered on a one-on-one basis, but at times this service is provided through
group workshops, classes, or computerized guidance systems.
Students who join the DLLE will get the benefit of ten
additional marks under university ordinance
0.229-A . These
marks will be given provided the student completes 120 hours in DLLE.
C) Sports: Various sports activities are undertaken by the gymkhana
of the college throughout the year. Various competitions are held
like Chess, Carom, Table Tennis, Volley Ball, Football, Kho-Kho,
Kabaddi, Athletics, Cricket, etc. In short, the
College encourages the students to take active part in all
co-curricular and extracurricular activities and
identifies the talent and potential of the students and provides them with overall environment for growth and development.
D) Cultural:
The cultural unit of the college conducts various activities throughout the
year such as talent hunt, festival week that includes various competitions such as Mr. and Ms. F. G. Naik,
Dancing, Singing, Rangoli, Mehendi,
T-shirt Painting, Poster Making, Antakshari, Debate, Elocution, Poetry Reading and many
more. It also includes various days celebration such as Rose Day, Tie Day, Saree Day, Black and White Day, Denim Day, Chocolate Day, etc.
E) Women Development Cell (W.D.C.):
The College 'Women Development Cell' has the primary objective of creating awareness about the problems of women and
provide for redressal of grievances of
girls students and women teaching and non-teaching staff. It also aims at making overall development of the female
personality by conducting various seminars, workshops on
women related issues.
F) Internal
Quality Assurance Cell (I.Q.A.C.) :
The IQAC channelize and systematize the efforts and measures of an
institution towards academic excellence. It should not be yet another
hierarchical structure or record-keeping exercise in the institution; it is a
facilitative and participative organ of the institution. The IQAC is a driving
force for ushering in quality by working out intervention strategies to remove
deficiencies and enhance quality.
In this program college will enhanced to increase quality within
students as well as teachers to develop a quality system for conscious, consistent
and catalytic programmed action to improve the academic and administrative
performance of the College.
To promote measures for
institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through domestic & internationalization
of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices
G) Students Council:
The student council helps share students' ideas,
interests, and concerns with teachers and college principals. They often also
help raise funds for college-wide activities, including social events,
community projects, helping people in need and college reform.
A student council is a curricular or extracurricular activity for
students within institute. Student councils often serve to engage students in
learning about democracy and leadership.
Generally, councils participate in the planning of college events such
as prom and spirit rallies. They also assist administration with events for the
local community such as blood drives or donation collections. They work with
the district's school board, school administration, parent organizations,
student body, and local community to decide on and approve projects and
initiatives for the college, students, and community.
Student council members bring ideas, requests, and feedback to the
meetings and a democratic process is used to give students a voice and make
decisions in creating a year-long calendar. Students who participate in student
councils, under the supervision of a teacher or administrator, learn about the
democratic process, civic responsibility, leadership, problem solving, and
teamwork.

काव्य स्पर्धा, ळविता स्पर्धा, सुभाषीत स्पर्धा, वर्व्तृत्व स्पर्धा, पारंपारीक नृत्य स्पर्धा तसेच मराठी
साहित्यातील प्रसिध्द साहित्यीळांचे मार्गदर्शनपर कार्यळमांचे आयोजन केले जाते.
मराठी भाषा व मराठी वाडमूय मंडळाचे वतीने विद्यार्थ्याना प्रेरणा मिळण्यासाठी वर्षभरात मराठी
भाषा दिवस, वाचन प्रेरणा दिन, पत्रकार दिन, छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराज, डॉ. बाबासाहेब
आंबेडकर, महात्मा फुले, सावित्रीबार्ड फुले, डॉ. ए.पी.जे. अब्दुल कलाम, डॉ. सर्वपल्ली
राधाळृष्णन यांची जयंती उत्सव साजरे करणेत येतात व विद्यार्थ्याना या महात्म्यांची महती व
माहिती पोहोचविण्याचे कार्य पार पाडले जाते.
I) Attendance Committee:
The committees will impose necessary action to the students having
attendance below the prescribed norm of 75%.
In every month the committee will calculate the attendance of each
student. Intimate the parents/guardians of students having poor attendance. Notify
the students having attendance below 75% and warn them if necessary. Suggest
the Principal to impose action to defaulting students with due intimation to
their parents.
J) Counseling Cell:
The College has its own counseling center handled by the Psychology department. The cell helps the students who require
counseling on different problems faced by them in various life areas such as
career guidance, stress management, interpersonal relationships, decision making,
etc
K) Internal
Control Committee (I.C.C.) :
College has formed Internal Control Committee (ICC) to provide
protection against sexual harassment of women at institution and for the
prevention and redressal off complaints of sexual
harassment and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
As per the special provisions have been made in the Indian Constitution
to ensure the protection of women’s status in the society. In accordance with these provisions, the Government established a State
Commission for Women on the basis of the National Commission for Women, in the
year 1993, with the aim of furthering the fundamental rights guaranteed by
articles 14, 15 and 16 of the constitution of India with respect to women and
give to effect to the Directive Principles of State Policy and in particular
those enshrined in articles 38, 39, 39A and 42 of the Constitution to improve the
status and dignity of women in society.
L) Placement and Career development Cell :
The College has its own
placement Cell and Career Development Cell that facilitates
interaction of students with industry for the employment
and many students have been recruited by the well-known
companies.
